These flat woven carpets take their names from the Larhabi people from Baghlan province in northern Afghanistan, who produce them. They are flat weaves rather than pile rugs, however the weft wrap sumak style of weaving gives them a tight, sturdy texture and crisp definition that is unlike any other type of carpets and kilims. Most often we weave them with the Larhabi peoples indigenous "Charchirak" design but we also weave some pieces with Caucasian sumak designs.
